Election Board Meeting on
2-25-2010:
Attending were Osage members and three Congress
members.
I want to comment on a couple
of areas I believe is noteworthy to the people.
It was obvious that
Jerri
Jean
Branstetter
came with the purpose to challenge board members and alternate member(s) of
impropriety while conducting their voting. She made it clear that she would
challenge the election if she believed there had been members not approved by
the Congress prior to voting on any issue.
The determination of
Congresswoman
Branstetter threats to this board that had
been working diligently and hard for a successful election. .
Faren
Anderson:
She harangued the board on their line item
budget expenditures, even after she was told, several times they could not
comment on specific information they did not have.
Most Osages would prefer to move past the
(2010) budget fiasco, with the continuing attacks by Congress members.
Be aware, we will not forget this Congress’
broken promises to the Osage people and the ramifications they present, so get
over yourselves and move on.

Re:
Meeting on
February 17th 2010
Subject:
Election
Regulations: Specifically—Felony
Dear
Sarah and
board members,
During the discussion on Felony’s, I have concerns on background
checks for both expunged and juveniles closed records.
My concern is for the current regulations and bill and I
believe justifies the following concern of most Osage Citizens.
I propose you recheck the current Congress backgrounds in
the expunged and juveniles before you seek approval from this Congress.
My reasons are due to the actions of some of the current
Congress members.
Specifically; Gaming Commission Open Hearing
William Supernaw, Jerri Jean Branstetter, Anthony Shackelford
lied to gaming staff to gain access to confidential accounting files while
jeopardizing the Osage Nation gaming Casinos and created such a disturbances
within the Osage gaming commission and NIGC and is a very real concern of the
Osage People.
Doug
Revard was also included in these
hearings for his actions by subjecting a female staff member to threats of
termination for performing her managerial duties, with proof by video.
Note:
Not one of the
accused attended this open hearing, and stating this was a kangaroo court and
refused to acknowledge any wrong doing.
I believe their
actions were dishonest and note worthy for future considerations while being repugnant
to the Osage Nation Constitution.
Soon after this fiasco
Congressman
Mark
Simms
proposed a change to the Ethics bill that any complaint is first subject to
Congress approval to determine any action.
Basically to police themselves and taking away the Constitutional rights
of the people.
Congress woman
Shannon
Edwards
has had 3 complaints against other congress members filed for a long time, and
has to this day not been acted upon.
I hope you can understand my and many other Osage members
concerns by bringing to this Congress considerations on any type of felony
before they are recertified and held up to the same standards as any future
elected official.
Thank you,
Sandra
